Catholic Education on the Northside

The  Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Miraculous Medal Academies Foundation announced an important transition for Catholic education on the Northside. The Diocese has made the difficult decision to close Northside Catholic Assumption Academy at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. At the same time, the Miraculous Medal Academies Foundation has announced the opening of a new independent Catholic school on the same campus next fall. The new school will be named Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy.

Saint Cyril of Alexandria Academy will offer a classical Catholic curriculum that unites faith and reason, worship and learning, for the families of the Northside and surrounding communities. All current Northside Assumption students will be warmly invited to enroll, and the Foundation has pledged a significant investment in scholarships and immediate facility upgrades.

Thanks to the Miraculous Medal Academies Foundation, Catholic education has not disappeared from the Northside and is secure for years to come.
